Each chapter in the chaptered storybooks gets it's own title screen, which appears on the main menu screen as entry buttons. ♥To see a chaptered slideshow I created click on the following links. I am prevented from loading them directly to this site because of my connection speed & time limits, and was forced to upload them to myspace videos in separate chapters. Additional Fees This is a list of additional options and established fees. It will help you calculate the approximate cost of your slideshow, however, it is not all inclusive. Each slideshow is unique & custom designed, therefore additional fees may apply and prices may vary. | →Scanning Fees; If you choose to send your actual photos & I have to scan them to my computer, the first 50 scanned images are free. ~Slideshow 101~
1.) I normally allow 8-10 seconds for each title screen. For a Basic Slideshow, this means that 70 to 80 of your images (plus the title & exit screens) will produce a slideshow that is approximately 7-8 minutes long depending on the length of the songs you choose.
2.) The average song or piece of music is 3 ½ - 4 minutes long. I can generally fit around 40 images per song to give ample viewing time for each of the images with that song in the background. If you are ordering a slideshow with 50 or less images & you want two songs for the background, I can set the images to either repeat for the duration of both songs, or allow longer view times for each image. If you choose a fast paced song & would like a faster paced slideshow, then I can add up to 10 extra images, however, the viewing time for each image will be much shorter.
3.) 200 of your images will produce a slideshow that is approximately 25-30 minutes long, depending on;
a.) The number of chapters (Each chapter will get its own 10-second title screen.)
b.) The length of transitions (usually 1 second each).
c.) The length of view for each image. d.) The number & length of any video clips inserted into your slideshow. e.) The number & length of your song selections. Hints for creating a great slideshow... Images (photos & paper media) these are just suggestions to assist you in building your slideshow. 1.) For photo images, its best to try to select crisp images that were taken on a landscape orientation. Try to choose photos that the subject of the photo is in focus and the obvious center of attention. 2.) Choose images that evoke an emotion. 3.) Choose close-ups rather than distant shots. 4.) Choose action shots. 5.) Organize your photos by a theme or along a'time line ... (Christmas, Halloween, Growing Up, Just Married, Our Grandbabies, etc). When sending images files on a CD or via e-mail, save your files as '.jpg'. I also accept '.gif', or '.bmp' files. When sending video clips & files, I accept mini-DV, home DVD, '.mpg', '.mpeg', and '.avi' files. Captions Captions are a great way to make your slidehow more entertaining & help the audience follow the story being 'told'. Sometimes the song lyrics will tell the story & captions are not necessary. When adding captions, try to keep them short and to the point! If you'd like to include some captions, be sure to let me know which caption goes with which image. Do not write your captions on the photos or in the file names, but rather inlude a word document or slips of paper placed in front of the photo (see specific instructions in 'How to get your images to me', below). If you have a preference to a particular font (text) style in the Windows font style selections, just let me know and I can use it instead of using whatever font style I arbitrarily choose. Titles Whether its a title for the production as a whole, or titles for separate chapters, try to keep them short and to the point. Again, I can use your preference of any of the Windows font styles for the titles in your slideshow. Music Picking music for a slideshow can be difficult, however, here's a few suggestions to help you select the music that best fits your slideshow. Try to select music that will set the mood for your slideshow because the music you choose can help your slideshow tell a story! Take some time to really think about what songs best fit the mood you are trying to create. Choose music that means something to you or to the person the slideshow is about. If you need some inspiration for a song selection, go to one of my favorite places to browse for song ideas, Pop Culture Madness . You'll see a list of years down the left side of your screen. Click on a year and see what the favorite songs were for that year, plus lots of little trivial facts specific to that year. Don't forget to check out all the "Top" lists for ideas for songs on everything from feel good songs to sad songs, from pop to rock! You'll love this site as much as I do! I try to avoid copyright issues by purchasing music from various on-line sources, however, you can provide me with music that you have already purchased. When sending audio files, either send me the actual purchased CD, or save the song files on a separate CD in '.mp3' format. The '.mp3' format also applies to prepurchased audio files that are sent via e-mail. In all cases, I create your slideshow with the intention of it being viewed by your friends and family for free in the privacy of your or their homes. In order for YOU to avoid copyright issues, you must not use your slideshow for personal profit or gain. All music selections on your slideshow will be 'cross-faded' so there won't be any pauses between songs. This professional service is done to provide a seamless audio presentation for the duration of your slideshow.
